Super-Soldier technology has been popular in Science Fiction since H.G. Wells wrote War of the World’s. The transformation from Science Fiction into Science Non-Fiction has become increasingly interesting since the 1980’s when the Reagan-era Star Wars program entered mainstream public consciousness. Under president George H. Bush there were persistent rumors of top secret testing of cyber-linked super soldiers being tested both in the 1989 invasion of Panama and subsequently in Iraq and Kuwait during the 1990-1991 Gulf War. These Rumors have continued to circulate during the current “War on Terror” being waged in Iraq and Afghanistan under President George W. Bush. Speculation on the existence of these programs has been further bolstered by the current Land Warrior and Future Force Warrior projects being implemented by the U.S. Military, as well as U.S. allies in the U.K. and Israel.
